About Dr. Brawley
Jessica Brawley, MD serves as Medical Director at PEAK Wellness & Aesthetics. A board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Brawley shapes the clinical framework behind every PEAK program — developing evidence-based protocols, guiding our care team, and setting the standards behind our weight management and aesthetic services. Outside of PEAK, she practices full-time as a primary care physician with Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, caring for patients across every stage of life.
Dr. Brawley's path to medicine runs through both branches of the armed forces. After completing her undergraduate pre-medical studies at the University of Colorado Denver, she earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. She trained in family medicine at Naval Hospital Bremerton in Washington, where her program named her Resident Teacher of the Year. She went on to serve as a family physician at the Iwakuni Branch Medical Clinic in Japan and was assigned to a fleet surgical team aboard deployed naval ships. She was honorably discharged from both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
Approach to care
As Medical Director, Dr. Brawley sets the clinical standards and protocols that guide every provider at PEAK. She is responsible for the evidence-based frameworks behind our treatment programs — from medication selection and dosing protocols to ongoing quality assurance. Her oversight ensures that every provider on the team operates from a foundation of rigorous, up-to-date medical guidance.
Dr. Brawley's military career — from a branch medical clinic in Japan to a surgical team aboard deployed ships — demanded sound clinical judgment in settings where resources and backup were limited. That experience shaped a practical, disciplined approach to medicine: clear protocols, thorough documentation, and accountability at every step. It is the same mindset she brings to the PEAK team, whether a case is routine or clinically complex.
Her day-to-day work as a primary care physician keeps PEAK's evidence-based weight loss approach grounded in whole-person medicine. Dr. Brawley understands how obesity intersects with blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and the other conditions family physicians manage every day — and she builds that perspective into the protocols PEAK providers follow. The result is care that treats weight as part of a patient's overall health, not in isolation, with sustainable results backed by both clinical research and individualized attention.
