About Talia
Talia Wallace, DNP, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and United States Navy veteran with more than 25 years of experience in nursing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Alabama. Much of her practice experience has been in orthopedics, where she has cared for patients living with chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions. These years of walking alongside patients in pain have shaped her whole-person, empathetic approach to care.
Her passion for weight management is a newer chapter in her career, inspired in part by her own struggles with weight loss. Having first come to PEAK Wellness as a patient, she was drawn to join the practice because she understands firsthand the vulnerability, hope, and determination that accompany the decision to pursue lasting change.
Outside of work, Talia enjoys time with her family — her husband of 32 years, their beautiful adult daughters, and her sweet dog Musuko. She stays active with her Peloton community on the bike and treadmill, and delights in exploring her newer love of fragrances, finding joy in the creativity and mindfulness it brings to her life.
Approach to care
Talia was a PEAK patient before she was a PEAK provider. She knows what it feels like to sit in that chair and decide it’s time to make a change. This lived experience, combined with over two decades of clinical nursing, means she brings both clinical expertise and real empathy to every appointment.
Her extensive background in orthopedics — caring for patients with chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions — has shaped a whole-person approach to care that looks beyond the number on the scale. Talia understands how excess weight can compound existing health conditions, and she brings that whole-body perspective to every treatment plan she develops. She believes in addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of health, meeting patients where they are with compassion and clinical rigor.
Today, Talia practices family medicine with a strong focus on obesity medicine and whole-person care, partnering with patients to build individualized treatment strategies rooted in evidence and sustained by support. If someone is exploring medication options for the first time or working to maintain progress long-term, Talia ensures they feel heard, supported, and confident in their care.
