Background

About Emily

Emily's inspiration to become a dietitian started with her love for cooking. She is passionate about helping others form a healthy relationship with food while achieving their health and wellness goals. Emily does not approach nutrition with a "one size fits all" mentality — she helps people build specific plans to reach their own goals.

Emily received her Bachelor's of Science in Human Nutrition and Foods and Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. She then went on to Syracuse University for her dietetic internship to obtain a Certificate of Advanced Study in Dietetics. She is registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has worked in a variety of settings including diabetes management, bariatric surgery, medical weight loss, and long-term care.

Clinical Focus

Approach to care

With experience spanning diabetes management, bariatric surgery, medical weight loss, and long-term care, Emily has seen firsthand how different each patient's relationship with food can be. Her approach to nutrition counseling begins with understanding where a patient is today, what challenges they face, and what realistic changes will move them toward their goals without sacrificing the foods and routines they enjoy.

Her diverse clinical background gives her a wide lens on the metabolic and behavioral factors that influence weight and overall health. If a patient is managing blood sugar alongside weight loss or recovering from bariatric surgery and learning new eating patterns, Emily draws on years of hands-on experience to provide guidance based on each situation. She is especially skilled at making nutrition advice actually doable in real life — guidance patients can sustain long after their appointments.

At PEAK, Emily works alongside our medical providers to ensure that nutrition is a central part of every patient's weight loss plan — not an afterthought. She helps patients optimize their protein intake, manage digestive changes through dietary adjustments, and build eating habits that protect lean muscle mass while maximizing fat loss. If someone is adapting to a new medication, working through a weight loss plateau, or trying to build a healthier relationship with food, Emily provides the guidance that turns short-term progress into lasting results.
